2027 Smart #5 Prices, Range and Specs: Australian Deliveries Start in November
Description
Priced from $58,900, the Smart #5 pairs up to 590km of claimed range with an 800V system and a 475kW Brabus option.

The 2027 Smart #5 brings a larger, more practical electric SUV into the brand’s Australian range, with prices starting at $58,900 before on-road costs. Retail deliveries are due to begin in November 2026. Buyers can choose between two rear-wheel-drive versions and a 475kW all-wheel-drive Brabus, with claimed WLTP range reaching 590km in the entry model.
At 4695mm long and with a 2900mm wheelbase, the #5 sits above Smart’s smaller #1 and #3 SUVs. It enters a field that includes the Polestar 4 and Zeekr 7X; the Smart shares its platform with the Zeekr. The brand, founded by Mercedes-Benz, is now jointly owned by Mercedes-Benz and Geely.

Australian prices and versions
The Pro+ costs $58,900 before on-road costs, while the Premium+ is priced at $63,900. The range-topping Brabus costs $73,900 and is the only version with dual motors and all-wheel drive. The $5,000 step from Pro+ to Premium+ buys a substantial equipment upgrade, while the Brabus commands a further $10,000 over the Premium+.

Smart vehicles are sold through LSH Auto Australia, which has showrooms in South Melbourne, Alexandria in Sydney and Newstead in Brisbane. The #5’s three grades give buyers a clear choice between range, cabin equipment and acceleration.
Range, charging and performance
Every #5 has a 100kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery, with 94kWh usable, and an 800V electrical architecture. Smart says a 10-to-80 per cent charge can take as little as 18 minutes. Maximum DC charging is listed at 400kW, with AC charging up to 22kW. Actual charging time will depend on the charger and conditions; the quoted minimum is a best-case figure.

The Pro+ and Premium+ use a single 267kW motor driving the rear wheels. They produce 373Nm, weigh 2260kg and are claimed to reach 100km/h in 6.5 seconds. Their claimed energy use is 18.4kWh/100km, and WLTP range is 590km. The Brabus adds a second motor for all-wheel drive, lifting output to 475kW and 710Nm. It weighs 2378kg, claims a 3.8-second 0–100km/h time and has a stated range of 540km at 19.9kWh/100km.
That makes the standard versions the more distance-focused choice on the figures supplied, while the Brabus puts acceleration first and gives up 50km of claimed range. All versions have vehicle-to-load capability for powering small appliances, and a braked towing capacity of 1600kg.

Double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear setup are fitted across the range. The 800V hardware and high listed DC rate should make charging capability a key point to assess against rivals, though real-world charging depends on access to a compatible high-output charger.
Cabin, dimensions and equipment
The #5 measures 1920mm wide without mirrors and 2169mm across them, with a height of 1705mm. Ground clearance is 190mm for the Pro+ and 197mm for the Premium+ and Brabus. Luggage capacity is listed at 630 litres with the rear seats in place, expanding to 1530 litres when they’re folded. There’s also an illuminated storage compartment under the bonnet.

The Pro+ comes with 19-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights, a panoramic roof with powered sunshade and a powered tailgate. Its screens comprise a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 13-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB+ radio and over-the-air software updates. Other standard items include a nine-speaker audio system, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, rear air vents and 256-colour ambient lighting.

Front seats are six-way power-adjustable, with four-way power lumbar adjustment, heating and memory. The rear seat backrest is powered, and the steering wheel and seats are wrapped in leatherette. The Premium+ adds 20-inch wheels, a hands-free tailgate, privacy glass, an augmented-reality head-up display and a 13-inch OLED screen for the front passenger. Its 20-speaker Sennheiser Signature sound system, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and duo leather upholstery distinguish it from the entry grade.

The Brabus moves to 21-inch wheels and adds red brake calipers, simulated engine sound, Brabus and off-road drive modes, and a heated Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel.

Ownership, colours and safety
Smart specifies servicing every 12 months or 20,000km. The vehicle warranty runs for five years or 150,000km, and the battery warranty lasts eight years or 150,000km, with a 70 per cent State of Health threshold.
The #5 has not yet received an ANCAP rating. Euro NCAP awarded it five stars in 2025. Australian standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop/go, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, driver attention monitoring, lane-keep assist and emergency lane-keep assist. The list also includes front and rear cross-traffic alerts, safe exit warning, traffic sign recognition, tyre pressure monitoring, parking emergency braking and seven airbags.

All versions have a black interior. The Premium+ can be ordered with Caramel Nappa or Lightyear Brown upholstery. Pro+ exterior choices include Meta Black, Cyber Silver metallic, Digital White metallic and Deepest Indigo Blue, all with an Eclipse Black roof; Morning Dew Grey costs $920. The Premium+ adds Atom Grey matte, Pulsar Ruby, Interstellar Blue and Saturn Beige matte, each listed at $1720.
The Brabus has its own palette, including Meta Black metallic and two-tone combinations with Radiant Red or Eclipse Black. Listed options range from Laser Red metallic and Eclipse Black at $560 to several matte and metallic combinations at $1720. With deliveries due in November 2026, the key comparison for buyers will be whether the Premium+’s extra cabin technology or the Brabus’s performance justifies the step up from the 590km-range Pro+.
