2026 Subaru Uncharted: Australian Price, Range, Specs and Equipment

At $59,990 before on-road costs, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted gives Australian buyers a new, smaller entry point to the brand’s electric range. It’s due in local showrooms in the coming months, with one version available: a dual-motor all-wheel-drive SUV claiming 522km of WLTP range.

The Uncharted sits below Subaru’s mid-size Solterra, which now starts at $61,990 before on-road costs following a price cut announced this week. Subaru’s larger Trailseeker completes its current trio of electric SUVs. All three share underpinnings with Toyota EVs: the Uncharted is based on the Toyota C-HR+, which is due in Australia in mid-2027.

Compact electric SUV alternatives include the BYD Atto 3, Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia EV3. The Subaru is slightly larger, and its price aligns most closely with higher-grade versions of those rivals. Its combination of standard AWD and a single specification makes the choice straightforward, though buyers can’t select a lower-powered or front-drive Australian version.

Range, charging and performance

Every Australian Uncharted uses a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery sourced from CATL. Subaru claims a 522km WLTP range and energy consumption of 16.0kWh/100km. Those are test-cycle figures; actual range will depend on driving conditions and use. The stated consumption and battery capacity offer buyers useful comparison points, while charging access and journey length will shape day-to-day usability.

DC fast charging peaks at 150kW, with a claimed 10-to-80 per cent charge taking 30 minutes. The maximum AC charge rate is 22kW. Australian buyers won’t have the front-wheel-drive version offered in the US: local cars all use Subaru’s dual-motor “Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive” setup, consistent with the brand’s local range apart from the rear-drive BRZ.

The front motor produces 167kW and 268Nm, while the rear contributes 88kW and 169Nm. Combined output is 252kW and 438Nm, matching the Solterra’s peak power. Subaru quotes a 0–100km/h time of around five seconds. The Uncharted also gets dual-mode X-Mode, with Grip Control and Downhill Assist Control for off-road driving. Its 211mm ground clearance adds a practical dimension to that equipment, although the supplied specifications don’t describe its capability in particular terrain.

Space, cabin and standard equipment

At 4535mm long, 1870mm wide and 1625mm high, the Uncharted has a 2750mm wheelbase. Its listed cargo capacity is 403 litres with the rear seats in use. That figure helps frame its everyday carrying capacity, while reclining rear outboard seats and rear-seat heating add comfort for passengers. The source doesn’t provide a figure for cargo space with the rear seats folded.

The cabin centres on a 14.0-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 7.0-inch digital instrument display sits high on the dashboard, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel is heated. Wireless phone charging is provided by two charging pads. The standard audio system has 10 Harman Kardon speakers; other listed cabin features include DAB+ digital radio, Bluetooth, voice commands, ambient lighting and dual-zone climate control.

Both front seats have eight-way power adjustment, with two-position memory and lumbar support for the driver. The front seats and outboard rear seats are heated. A digital rear-view mirror, power tailgate and V2L capability are also standard; the V2L outlet supplies up to 1500W. Three drive modes—Eco, Normal and Sport—join the dual-mode X-Mode system.

Price, options and colours

Subaru Australia lists one Uncharted grade, the AWD, at $59,990 before on-road costs. The main listed option is a panoramic glass roof, priced at $1200, or $2400 when ordered with two-tone paint.

Five exterior colours are offered: Cosmic White Pearl and Attitude Black Mica, plus Cement Grey Metallic, Mineral Metallic and Flare Orange Metallic, each costing $660. Four two-tone combinations pair a black roof with Cosmic White Pearl, Cement Grey Metallic, Mineral Metallic or Flare Orange Metallic; each costs $1200.

Ownership costs and cover

Subaru’s listed vehicle warranty runs for five years with unlimited kilometres. The high-voltage battery warranty is eight years or 160,000km, and roadside assistance is listed for 12 months. Scheduled servicing is due every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first. Capped-price servicing covers five years, with a stated total cost of $984.18 and an average annual cost of $196.84.

Safety equipment

The Uncharted has not yet been crash-tested and has no crash-test rating. Standard equipment includes eight airbags, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-centring, lane-departure alert and driver attention monitoring. Subaru’s Emergency Driving Stop System is also fitted, alongside front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, traffic sign recognition and tyre-pressure monitoring.

Camera systems include front-view, surround-view and multi-terrain monitors. The breadth of standard driver assistance and visibility equipment is notable for a single-grade model, but a crash-test rating is not yet available for buyers comparing independent assessments.

With standard AWD, 252kW and a claimed 522km range, the Uncharted’s strongest case is its unusually complete specification at the entry point to Subaru’s EV range. Its listed running costs, charging rates and 403-litre boot capacity give buyers concrete points to weigh against the similarly priced upper grades of compact electric SUV rivals. More detail on real-world range and charging performance will come with local driving experience.
